To keep the element from shorting out on most types of sealers. Teflon cloth with an adhesive back that sticks to the sealer under where the element goes. It is very important to change theTeflonadhesive and the Cover Teflon every time you change an element. When the sealer's heating wire has burned
through the
sealing strip, the heating element will break which
could
also result in more damage to other sealer parts.
